Small-scale fisheries for sustainable Blue Growth improving food security and livelihoods in Coastal Kenya and East Africa (KECOFISH).

Achievements

To date, the KECOFISH project has reported the following outputs, to assess the situation and find innovative solutions for improving food security and livelihoods in Coastal Kenya and East Africa

  • Seven (7) Beach Management Units were trained in mobile fisheries data collection

Activities

  • Local successful SSF prototypes will be scaled to deliver organised and effective co-management in two important regions in coastal Kenya (Shimoni-Vanga and Lamu seascapes)

Expected Outputs

  • New innovative solutions to remaining challenges will be co-created with communities in Shimoni-Vanga and Lamu, Kenya providing the evidence and prototypes to support regional scaling.
