The Lake Victoria Fisheries Organization (LVFO) has conducted an informative session for the Partner States of the East African Community (EAC) that are not currently members of the LVFO. This includes the Republic of South Sudan, Rwanda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The primary aim of this session was to familiarize the technical staff from the Ministries responsible for Fisheries, Aquaculture, and East African Community Affairs with the LVFO Convention. The discussion encompassed the origins, mandate, core functions, vision, and mission of the LVFO, as well as the procedures for interested Partner States to become members. The session was met with positive feedback, and efforts will be made to facilitate these Partner States’ membership in the LVFO in the upcoming future.
